World Water Day

Hello my readers! A very good day to you all. As you all know, March 22nd is observed as ‘World Water Day’. So, here I am with my ‘Johny Johny Yes Papa’. Yes, again rhyme. But this time, I am happy because my daughter actually read this verse and she really liked it. Her favourite line from this verse is “‘No water’, and she threw the bomb”.

My daughter enacts every lines from this verse. I find it very cute and hence this verse is special to me.

A month before, Mumbai ran out of water and this verse is somewhat about it. So happy reading.

World Water Day

Rita and Amita, good friends
loves to make reels and make it trend.

Dancing and hoping all day
and in the end, their faces were all gray.

Hungry and thirsty, they went to mom
“No water”, and she threw the bomb.

Rita went to shop, to buy water jar
but “it’s not available, it’s very far”

Amita searched it online,
but “out of stock” was their headline.

Then papa came home, playing cricket,
“I have to take a bath” was the big-ticket.

Utilizing the only bucket, full of water, they had,
everyone had to wait for the pipeline to get repaired.

The whole day, without food, without water, they somehow managed
but thinking life without water, they all were emotionally damaged.

That one day, they were in stress
but in the end, receiving water was a bless.

They learned a lesson to save and store
and this is not rocket science, you should not ignore.

Really blessed you are, with access of water
some cry and beg for it, some paid high-price for her

Life without water is nothing and vegetable
so let’s take a pledge, this world water day,
to conserve and use it wisely,
else it will be inaccessible.

Hope you all liked it. Do check out my other verse as well.

Negatively Positive

Hello everyone! A very good day to all. We all have come to such a stage that we don’t know what will happen next. In India, we call this “Kalyug” which means “the age of darkness”. We don’t have any guarantee that we will live tomorrow or not. What will happen to us in the next phase is totally unpredictable. One such biggest example is this pandemic. I saw a few families celebrating the Covid survivors, while a few families were mourning. Even saw families with horrible shocks of death of their loved ones, one after the other. Prayers for those kids who lost their parents in such horrible situations. Governments are requesting to adopt such kids. But what to do, everyone has their own life. Everyone is still struggling with their job. Everyone’s job is still at stake. In such a situation adopting a kid and maintaining them is a huge budgetary responsibility.

But what’s the positive side of this pandemic? You will be thinking what’s the positive in this pandemic? “Positive” the word itself is negative now. Well, the positive side is that we all started taking care of each other. Started taking care of our health. Even though our eating habits are bad, we still drink decoction to keep our immune system healthy. We also started taking our job critically, and all of the above we came to know the importance of education and examination. Parents now don’t want their children to stay at home and study. They want their kids to go back to school and give proper examinations. If you remember, recently doctors went on strike because they got their MBBS degree but they are still not allowed to start their practice. So what’s the use of achieving the degree? So now, the “Positive” thing is everyone understands each other’s job role to perfection. Everyone is trying to fit in others shoes.

A few days back, It rained in Mumbai. The winter temperature in Mumbai is 15degree. Mumbaikars find this temperature very cold because we are not accustomed to such weather. Since it’s very humid here, hence if the temperature goes down then we feel like we stay in a snowy area. Such temperatures affect our health. and hence all started giving signs of what coronavirus has. Now almost 9 people in 10 are positive, even if they are double vaccinated.

Whenever there is a new variant, Mumbai is the one who is affected the most. Why? not because we don’t take care of our health but because Mumbai never sleeps and the economy is on a daily basis. Mumbai has lots of street hawkers and we all are dependent on that. Hence without them we are like a handicap. The work life of Mumbai is pitiful and hence we depend on restaurants for our starvation. and hence we Mumbaikars can’t accept if the restaurants shuts due to lockdown. When the 1st lockdown was eased, all the businesses took utmost care of their customers. But now everyone wants business, and everyone wants other businesses to work. So sanitization has taken aback. Now what’s the positive in this? Well, the positive part is that we want “other” businesses to work and hence we knowingly and unknowingly help them to grow their business. and here again, since no proper sanitization hence we are only taking care of ourselves before and after visiting any restaurants or any other place.

One biggest positive side of this pandemic is local sight seeing. Well we all want to visit abroad. But since every country has their own quarantine rule, hence we started exploring our own country. If not a far destination then yes, a local destination. The tourism within the homeland has increased a lot. There were images / news on the internet of overcrowding tourist spots and people without masks. Well, we are the only ones who overcrowd the place and we are the only ones who sometimes say “no” to mask, so no need to point to others. Now here what’s the positive? The positive side is, even though we see that other person is without a mask and yet we “believe” them and “trust” them to not to be corona positive. We meet, we greet, we buy things from people who are without masks just on “trust and believe”.

I find this as the most “positive” and “cutest” thing on earth.

Well, this virus will take more time to breathe it’s last. But I’m sure, we will have a much better vaccine than before and it will be available in every house. Till then, wash / sanitize your hand, wear a mask, stay safe and stay Negatively Positive.

My Anecdote – International Trip

Me and my hubby like to travel a lot. But this journey came to rest, after the baby. I was very fussy and scared to travel with my baby. What if my baby got sick? What if she doesn’t get proper food? All such questions made me not want to travel. My hubby was always on the positive side. His only response was, “I earn well right now, Let’s travel, Let’s check. If something goes wrong then we will travel back. Such a trip will not come again in our life”. And that trip was none other than Maldives.

Maldives, a place, if visited once, you will visit again and again. Yes, I will visit again. Clean beaches, water sports, fishes near the shore, baby sharks. Yes, I saw a baby shark near the shore. My daughter was  excited when we told her that we were going to such a place where there are only beaches and fish around.  She was damn happy. But while taking flight from Mumbai, she became restless and didn’t want to stand in immigration line. She shouted, screamed, she was out of control. I gave her mobile, her fav books, even lollipops. But she was very bored standing in the queue. Thanks to Mumbaikars, who told us to go ahead. My daughter was calm after that. I set her free in the airport. She ran, she slept on the floor, everything she did, she wanted to do. But she thought she had reached Maldives and then shouted that she wanted to go to the beach. We made her trip more interesting, told her about the plane, the air hostess etc. Luckily she slept in flight. and upon reaching Maldives, she again yelp and didn’t want to stand in queue for a visa. Luckily My husband was quick in this and soon we got visas and were out of the airport.

She was happy travelling on a speed boat. We reached this small island called “Maafushi”. A recommend place. Though this island is very small, you will get all the sports activity at reasonable rates. My daughter was on cloud nine looking at all those fishes around her legs. She was not ready to do hotel check-in. I told my husband to do all the procedures and me and my daughter sat on the beach. Though the end to end journey was long, I was very hungry and  I had a headache too. I badly wanted tea. But my daughter was in some other world. She didn’t come out of the beach until it was dark. Finally, my daughter did a hotel check-in. Now she was tired and hungry. Since I was with my kid, I was typical Indian mom with lots of food in my bags. I have kept all these healthy / unhealthy snacks for her. Finally, we were in a restaurant to have our dinner. Since I am Indian, I love Indian food a lot. i.e. masalas and spicy. On the other hand, My daughter wants blend food. On the food side, we didn’t enjoy that much. Even in the non-veg part, I didn’t enjoy it. But that’s the culture, that’s the food and we can’t do anything about it.

After 2 days of our Maafushi trip, we went to this island, called, “Paradise Island ”. This is a private island with its own restaurants, its own beach and its own watersports. But this island was more expensive than Maafushi. Even food was expensive. But here, we got to see Baby shark, Sting gray, and almost all the fishes, near the shore. We even took a 1 night stay in a water villa. My daughter had blast feeding sting gray. She enjoyed it a lot. More than me, more than my husband.

I thought My baby would be hungry in Maldives. Yes, she was but she was enjoying her trip more than hunger. She didn’t fuzz about food. She was happy playing on clean beaches. After reaching Mumbai, we landed at my mom’s house and my mom had prepared chicken curry. Looking at that, my daughter shouted, “No No. No. No chicken. Only dal rice. Only Dal Rice’. Even my child had enough non-veg food – haha!

One thing I learned from this trip, though we mothers are scared of travelling with kids, but we should take a chance at least. If not far, then at least nearby. In this way, you will be clear whether to make a long trip or not. and also we mothers need a break. Though for mothers, it’s just a change of place and nothing else, yet there is some relaxation and fun around. At least, you don’t have to make food every now and then..

Travelling with kid is fun.  You will come to know what your kids like. Whether plane or car or train. You will come to know whether your kid like to adjust in other environment and also food. Not only that, your bags will be get reduced in every trip. Even in case of food,  you will keep only required once. “Travel” the word itself says to “proceed” from one stage to another. “Travel” the word itself says to “move on”. “Travel” the word itself says to “progress”.

So keep traveling. keep exploring the place along with kids.
