KitKat Or Cadbury And Why?

The first Sunday of August. Teenagers love this day and eagerly wait for it. From different types of friendship bands, hugging and now just wishing, we all grew up.

I still remember, It was the “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” movie, from there a friendship band came into picture and it’s  still ruling. That time, I was in school and I even wanted to buy such bands. But in my school days, I had a very big gang. And I used to consider everyone as special friends. So, asking for money to buy a lot was a big task. So I did this; whatever bands I got from friends, I kept the one which I liked, the rest I tied to someone else, who were close.  And those who were not so close, I wrote “Happy Friendship Day” on their hand. Oh yes, we used to write “Happy Friendship Day”, “you are my best friend”, “Best friend forever”, etc on a friend’s palm. Also, I wrote on their shirt. Sharing chocolates or small gifts was also a must. Gifts, hardly I had shared, but yes, I shared chocolates a lot.

Chocolates were differentiated based on how good a friend he or she is. If she is my best friend then a big Cadbury dairy milk, and if not then some small xyz chewy chocolate. And If you share or get KitKat, then you will sit and cry in the corner. Because sharing a KitKat means breaking up. The KitKat slogan also says this, “have a break, have a KitKat”. So if you get KitKat that means the friends don’t want you anymore. And if you get dairy milk chocolate, it means the person loves you. But that also depends on size. If you get big dairy milk then, you are special else you are their second friend.

We had even judged our friends, based on which type of band they had tied us to. If they had tied us to a very low quality band then we said “ta ta bye bye” to such a friend. Never thought at that time that their parents must have not given them money to buy bands. Though, we all kids were in the same pool yet we differentiated. “Mere paas bhi paise nahi hai, phir bhi me kuch toh achcha bands laayi hu”. (Even though I don’t have money, yet I have bought good bands than her)

Friendships Day and mischief, is must. Friendships day and Raksha Bandhan festival falls in the same month. Sometimes, very close by. So such was 2001 year. Raksha Bandhan was celebrated on 4th 2001, Saturday and friendships day on 5th, Sunday. Haa Haa!! Boys were too scared. What if they got Rakhi instead of Friendships band? Obviously, I also did that. I had tied Rakhi to one of my friend, instead of friendship band. Pity on boys.

This friendships day, sharing one of my 100-word content, which I had written in pandemic and had posted on Momspresso website.

A Wish And We All Gathered.
—————-

What should we wish when this pandemic is around?
Still a secret prayers were going on.

Days were hell, fighting with you all.
Yet we finally met, after years and again we all fell in love.

Don’t have words to express, how was my world that day.
A good bye hug, left me in mixed pain.

I wish you could all stay back a little longer.
A fine talk with you and take out few information, like a sweet stalker.

A wish and prayers is still going on,
Hope to meet you soon when this pandemic will gone.

Celebration Makes A Great Dessert

Hi all. Thanks a lot for making my “The Rhymester in me” post pretty awesome. It really means alot to me. So, I have come again with yet another poem. Well, this time it is kind of motivational poetry. It’s about celebration. I know, we all have a whale of a time but still, this is for some good vibration. Well, I am not at all a motivational speaker. But still, let me give it a try. And without wasting any time, here it goes;

Celebration Makes A Great Dessert

What’s waiting for? Let’s celebrate.
Whether it is success or birthday, never leave the joy behind.
Create one, if you don’t have any occasion.
Celebrate the kid in you.
Celebrate the human in you.
Celebrate your own birth.
Never let sadness overcome your happiness.
Cooked food? Celebrate.
Cleaned house? Celebrate.
Read books? Celebrate.
Life is meant to celebrate the victory of every moment.
Life is short, so celebrate.
Life is beautiful, so celebrate.
Celebrate the lion in you.
Celebrate the mouse in you.
Never leave a stone unturned,
because celebration makes a great dessert.

Hope you liked my new poetry. This is 100 word poetry and it was originally published by me on Momspresso website. I enjoy writing 100 word challenges there.

My Centenary Post

Here I am, writing my One Hundredth Blog Post. Yeah, I repeat, this is my 100th post. Wow! Wow because I can’t believe that I have finally reached here. I remove my helmet, raise my bat and look towards heaven. Super excited today to write my 100th post. I know it was a tortoise walk but at least I didn’t give up this time. I have been waiting for this day for a long time. But when this day came, I don’t know what happened, It literally took me a lot of days, in-fact months, just to open my laptop and write on this topic. Not because I was busy, I was basically too tired to write on something. Just Imagine, I had a topic, I knew the content, yet I took months to write. Why? But Why? I keep asking myself this question.

My 100th Post

As this post is my 100th, this post is exceptionally remarkable and extra special to me. Because I am ending this year with my 100th post. With Christmas and new year around, I like to revisit my posts. Well, As I said in my earlier post that I started with this blog almost 13 years back and as a newcomer my first post was about “Happy New Year 2009“. Oh! What a coincidence. Started with the New Year and ended with the New Year.  My last post was in October 2021, The Suspicion, Almost a gap of 2 months now. It’s really funny, when you know what to write, yet did not write about it. But these 2 months were not easy for me. Because, I had to keep my readers busy. and hence had to keep on sharing my post on social media. Well, A big thanks to all writers on twitter who followed me (main, important and necessary), who supported me and encouraged me to take part in their discussion. Well, now Since I’m a housewife and  hence I can’t match my timings with the discussion forum. But I am happy to see increasing numbers of followers on twitter. Really Big thanks to all “Writers Lift”  community. I would also like to thank LinkedIn for giving me the opportunity to create a discussion forum on their site.

Last but not the least, I want to thank all my readers, who have actually read and given genuine comments. Though not on my site, but on social media or on my face. Yes, many were positive and some were negative. But at least they were genuine. You are what keeps me going! Yeah, I will write more and more and more.

Feels really good when your work gets appreciated. Since now-a-days I write a lot, I started writing a 100 word story. You can check my momspresso blog. I enjoy writing 100 words there.

Why do I write? Because I love it and I know what and how to write. Ha Ha ! I feel relaxed after publishing my post. I feel as if I have achieved something in my life. Though not really, But yes I have achieved new readers, new followers and of course appreciation from my readers and that feeling is incredible. I have almost 70 followers on facebook, 462 followers on twitter (almost more than half are writers), 39 followers on my website and 12 email followers. I know, the count is less but I know slow and steady will win the race.

Again, I would like to thank each and every one of you who have the patience to read my piece of heart. It means a lot!  Love you all. Keep reading.
