Life In Rains

Rain Rain, Where are you? What happened to your precipitation? Even that has evaporated?  For the past 2 year, something or other worse has happened all over the world. The covid-19, tsunami, earthquake, bird flu, new variant covid-19, etc. etc. And now the heat wave. Mumbai is always scorching and has lots of humidity in the climate. In that there was icing on the cake i.e. heat wave, some cherry on top i.e. unexpected rains. Such change in weather leads to an increase in heat waves. But we can’t complain because we are the only reason for this climate change.

To change or to be aware of certain things, we pollute other things. Let’s not go into debt, what exactly I want to say here. As I said earlier, we are only responsible for this climate change. To change something, we pollute some other thing. But what did we learn from this heat wave? Well, certainly nothing. Nobody understood the importance of trees and planting more trees. We just carry few more things in our bags and avoid going out in the afternoon.

So sun, we gave privacy to you during day time. Now, in return what will we get?? Rain ??

Ok. But are we really happy when the rain showers at us? Well, for a few days we will be happy. Because some heat waves will diminish. But after a few days, #MumbaiRains will trend on twitter. Then we will start making a fuss on the potholes and water logging. Also we will share the version of a rain song composed and manipulated by RJ Malishka (click here to check out one of her songs). But this is outside scenario, what about inside protest. Ha Ha! Complaints about clothes not getting dry properly, Complaints about the various insects who make themselves comfortable at our house, Complaints about making food and not enjoying rain, etc. etc. So, we carp all day and night. Work doesn’t stop, they just procrastinate horribly.

I love the rainy season. Yes, with complaints. I love the thunder sound. I like to watch the rain. I close my eyes and try to savour every drop of it. Memories of childhood flash across my mind. The greenery around us gives relaxation to the eyes. Believe me, it is a feast for the eyes. Apart from playing in the rain, Visiting nearby waterfalls and hill-stations is a must. Enjoying a walk in Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Visiting Marine Lines and Worli Sea Face and Visiting Khandala – Lonavala is a must. Else, you have not enjoyed the rainy season.

And here the electricity blows up. Again Complaint. Yes, I said that I love this season but with some opposition. Electricity hits hard in the rainy season. Some areas don’t get electricity for a long time, even for days. So enjoy, Candle light dinner with family with some thunder and lightning. We have to be alert to keep our electronic items charged before we regret it.

Keep an umbrella, raincoat, mobile cover ready with you all the time. If you are travelling, keep an extra pair of clothes with you. If it’s raining torrentially, better to wait or stay wherever you are. Don’t be in a hurry to reach home / office. And Enjoy the climate, because this will last only for 3-4 months.
