Pintoo’s Chores

Pintoo is just three years old,
But the family will tell you that
He’s such a help around the house
When he dons his ‘helpful hat’!

He’s too young to fold clean clothes
But he knows his colors best
So he separates them in cheerful piles
For Amma to do the rest

When it’s Pappa’s turn to cook a meal
He can’t do without his boy
Pintoo tells him where the oil is kept
And what goes best with ‘dali-toy’

Whenever the house needs a dusting
(Why does that bring on a frown?)
Amma dusts four feet and up
It’s Pintoo’s domain four down

His Parents redo all his Chores
When Pintoo is at play
They’ll probably tell him that
When he’s a little grown some day

Pintoo now is just a child
And the help he gives too small
But the joy he spreads is oh so much
When he attempts helping all!
